Our shareholders fully support our vision to make the world’s best and most sustainable biomaterials accessible to everyone. Together, we have the goal of making AMSilk a global leader in bioengineered performance materials. In 2008, AMSilk was founded as spin-off from the Technical University of Munich. Thanks to the support of the shareholders AT Newtec GmbH and MIG Fonds, we were able to grow from a humble startup into a well-established, reputable industry partner in the field of biomaterial products. We are grateful that our initial shareholders have supported us since the very beginning of our journey. In 2021, additional and renowned shareholders joined the Company, supporting us to make the next step.

Together with our existing shareholders and with Novo Holdings, Cargill and E.R. Capital Holding, we can accelerate industrialization and expand commercial operations into new markets.

AT Newtec GmbH
The Hexal founders Dr. Andreas and Dr. Thomas Strüngmann are majority shareholders of AMSilk GmbH through AT Newtec GmbH. The brothers invest in companies at different growth stages and are also the major shareholders of Biontech.

MIG
MIG AG, Munich, is one of the leading German VC investors. MIG invests through MIG Fonds in young, deep tech and life science companies in German-speaking Europe and beyond. To date, the company has invested more than € 600 million in over 40 companies.

AMSilk Announces Extension of Series C Financing to EUR 54M

AMSilk GmbH (“AMSilk”), the world’s first industrial supplier of bio-fabricated silk protein materials, today announced it has successfully raised an additional EUR 25 million in an extended Series C financing led by existing investor ATHOS (AT Newtec) with participation from Novo Holdings, Cargill, and MIG Capital.
