The science behind AMSilk4Care

Spider silk is famous for its unique combination of strength and flexibility. This comes from its special structure, which balances water-repellent and water-attracting regions. Inspired by this natural design, AMSilk4Care uses a recombinant spider silk protein that follows the same pattern to create strong, elastic and versatile materials.

AMSilk’s silk proteins, which have primarily been used for biodegradable textiles, are additionally showing promising advantages for the consumer care market. Their unique amino acid composition enables the formation of ultra-thin, surface-adhering coatings that deliver high-performance functionality while protecting the underlying surfaces. This makes them highly versatile for use in a range of cleaning and personal care applications.
